The Edtech trend that stood out for me in Weller’s (2018) article was “2005: Video ”. I am interested in this trend because Youtube has been a great source of e-learning for me growing up, from crash courses to bill nye the science guy. This trend occurred because user-generated content services were beginning to rise, and it allowed more “layfolks” to offer their insights rather than strictly academics. I think videos in regards to e-learning is still a trend as I have learned a lot through tik tok videos. The original creator of crash courses, Hank Green, is continuing to share his knowledge on a variety of scientific topics on Tik Tok. Social pod members, can you think of an influential e-learning video on youtube/tik tok?
